Dr. Michelakis received his MD from the University of Patras in 1990. Following a research fellowship at the University of Texas in Galveston, he completed his Internal Medicine and Cardiology training at Yale University and the University of Minnesota. He is an assistant professor of Medicine (Cardiology) at the University of Alberta since 8-1-1998. Since his arrival at the U of A he has received funding from the AHFMR (Clinical Investigator) and the Alberta Lung Association. He is a member of the Vascular Biology Research Group.
