Steven Filby, MD, is an interventional cardiologist and director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center.
Dr. Filby’s practice focuses on the medical and percutaneous treatment of coronary artery disease and structural heart disease. He has advanced training in the minimally invasive repair of congenital and valvular heart abnormalities. With more than 10 years experience, he previously practiced at FirstHealth of the Carolinas in Pinehurst, North Carolina, where he served as director of the transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) program and chief of cardiology.
Born and raised in New Orleans, Dr. Filby graduated from Harvard University with honors and obtained his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He completed his internal medicine residency at Stanford University Hospital and cardiology fellowship at University of North Carolina Health Care in Chapel Hill. Dr. Filby then completed a two year advanced fellowship in interventional cardiology, peripheral and structural intervention at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Filby is board-certified in cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology and board- eligible in vascular medicine.
Dr. Filby and his wife, Kimberly, have three daughters. He enjoys running, swimming and reading. Dr. Filby is also an avid beekeeper and a lifelong New Orleans Saints fan. He is a member of the Endymion Carnival Club and participates in the Mardi Gras parades each year.
