Anterior Segment Update for the Comprehensive Ophthalmologist

This program is a video recording of the original Virtual CME program presented on October 3, 2020. The program designed to update the comprehensive ophthalmologist on findings and management of anterior segment diseases based upon current clinical trials, new class of glaucoma medications, recently FDA approved iris prosthetic implant, published reports on the impact of cataract surgery on eye pressure in glaucoma patients, clinical recognition of non-glaucomatous optic neuropathies and secondary intra-ocular lens implantation techniques. The program will include glaucoma, cornea, retina, pediatric and neuro-ophthalmology sub-specialties.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Incorporate clinical trial findings into clinical practice
  2. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of different imaging modalities
  3. Illustrate the clinical indications, outcomes, and complications of secondary intraocular lens placement via the posterior segment approach.
  4. Discuss the mechanisms of action, relative efficacy, and general side effect profiles of the different classes of medications.
  5. Explore the role of Micro-invasive Glaucoma Surgery in patients with medically controlled glaucoma needing cataract surgery

The intended audience for this activity are comprehensive ophthalmologists and glaucoma specialists.
